I'm sure Ben will be cleared as 100% ready to play by the doctors but the big question mark is he ready mentally ? We won't know until next Sunday when we see him play. He has looked bad, real bad after head injuries and I'm not sure this time won't be different. He just seems too darn INDECISIVE and doesn't trust what he's seeing. I think Ben and Tomlin need to realize that this offense doesn't seem to fit Ben. I think it needs to have more movement like getting Ben out of the pocket (intentionally) more often and dare I say "Dumb" it down a bit, and I don't mean Ben is dumb, I know when everyone is flying around at the snap of the ball only very few QB's can still keep everything straight in their heads and have that total field vision. I've played safety and have a respect for that total field vision and it works only when you don't focus on anything but see everything, it's almost just like a stare. Playing QB has to 50 % harder because you have to keep this field vision while 300lb plus monsters are breathing all over you. One thing that Ben doesn't have that help these types of QB's is good mechanics. When Ben is moving he doesn't have the ball up ready to throw at any time, it seems he's looking for a space to get to then pick up the ball to throw and lots of times it seems quick to us but that 1/4 second is all the time you have to get that open receiver. I hate to bring up P. Manning because I'm tired of hearing and seeing his ugly face but while he's a terrible runner he moves extremely well in the pocket and has the ball ready to throw most of the time. Now of course Ben shakes off tacklers better than anyone (however not so much this year) and creates big plays because coverages break down after that extra time he creates and that can't be taught. I hope I'm wrong but I really have my doubts about the play of Ben coming up in the playoffs, I just hope Tomlin realizes that these opportunities don't come around much, I mean our playoff position and our stifling defense. We'll be older defensively next year and we seem to have most of our big names healthy which doesn't happen all that much. I hate to see this year wasted because we can't score any points.
