Baltimore vs. Denver |
Lead | |
|
Both teams are coming off a bye. Denver will be on their "high horse" considering they are undefeated, and Baltimore has lost 3 in a row (man I love
hearing that...) and are looking to make a statement. This is an extremely tough game to pick. Obviously, I am rooting for Denver, but the game is in
Baltimore, and I don't really think that Denver is even in the top 5 of the best teams in the NFL.

Well, I don't have a strong favorite, but I have to pull for Denver for a couple reasons. Balti is in our division and I want them the be saddled with as
many losses as possible. Secondly, I think Denver will fizzled down the road. Third, I want the Steelers to knock off unbeaten teams consecutively much like
2005. It would be a good boost to their confidence.
I do hope that the contest between Denver v. Balti is a slobber knocker and Denver needs plenty of Ben-gay after the game. Chucktown

If I were a betting man I'd be taking the Ravens.
It will be a good game and a great scouting film for the Steelers!

I feel the difference in the game, assuming good weather, will be the quality of the Denver wide outs vs the Baltimore corners. In that same light, that is why I think we will beat Baltimore as well. |

Ravens are going to win. They are always tough at home. Plus, they need this game more than the Broncos do.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Broncos came out flat and the Ravens kicked their butts. I want Denver to win, but its not going to happen. |

In my opinion, I think the Ravens are going to win. They have more to play for at 3-3 and staring up at the Steelers and Bengals in the division. The Broncos
are a good 2 games ahead of the Chargers in their division and don't have as much to play for. In my pick'em league I've picked against Denver the
past 3 weeks, and lost them all. I'm not sure which way I'll go this week...I just hope both the Broncos are banged up for the MNF game with PIT.

Denver and Baltimore playing each other is great. One of them has to lose, or they both get a tie notched on their records. Very similar to Indy/NE
matchup....hooray, someone's gettin' an L!!!

Frankly, I hope it's a 0-0 bloodbath....... having the Ravens another week behind would be great, and it would be nice to play a battered Bronco squad the
week after too.....

As much as I want the Steelers to play another undefeated team, I also think that the Ravens will win.
I'm with you Dave, I hope that it's a real knock down drag out game that leaves both sides wanting to spend a month in an ice tub. |

I don't usually watch any other games if the Steelers are not one of the teams on the field but I think that I might put this one on or better yet, record
it so that I can watch what each of these teams do. I do hope that Denver wins this one, for the obvious reason that I want the Ratbirds to lose another one.
But also, its harder for a team to remain unbeaten. If they lose to Baltimore, they will have more to prove when we face them the following week. Can teams
be psyched out that easy? Well, history seems to bear that idea out. How many great teams just don't seem to show up on game day when they have a weak
team to play and the "weak" team nearly pulls it out or does.
So, in my humble opinion, its better for the Broncos to win and come into our game with that unbeaten swagger and for us to put them in their place.

Now, all that said, I agree with most that posted here, the Ravens will come out on top of this one. Also, I don't wish any real harm on any players,
karma being what it is, but it sure would be nice to see some that require a few weeks rest. LOL

If I had to bet on this game I would pick the Ratbirds and believe me I hate to say that, but the truth will be on the tape.
Denver while posting a great record thus far in my opinion is playing over their head with a QB Kyle Orton who dosen't cut it . Sorry but the Baltimore Ravens should win this game as they are desperate, playing at home and the intensity for their team will be to their benefit. Matter of fact I think the Ratbirds will bring Denver back to earth like a thud and it won't get any better for the Bronco's the following Monday Night where the Pittsburgh Steelers rule! |

Kyle Orton has approx. the same physical talent as Brady. If he is anywhere near as cereberal (which he is), he will become the next dink-dank-dunk master. Orton already has WR's on equal talent with New England's and he has better RB's behind him. His numbers have already jumped off the charts as a "system" QB. On defense, that is one fired up group of players in Denver. They have some of the NFL's best cover guys and a safety that lays down the law. This team will go far. Should be a great game. Don't think Denver can't knock Baltimore a wrung lower. |

I'm rooting for the Broncos.....because the LAST time I rooted for a team that we were going to play next, to beat Baltimore the week before we played
them....we won. For example....two weeks ago, I rooted for Minnesota to beat the Ravens...and they did, the following week we of course were PLAYING the
vikings and thanks to the Defense, beat them....this week I root for the Broncos...so that next week the Steelers shall CRUSH the orange!!

Cassell posted tremendous numbers last year subbing for Dinkerbell, left the system and is in an abysmal mess in KC. The same would hold true for Shady Brady if he left N.E. Chucktown

If Denver happens to win that will be good for us, but I still believe Denver's offense is overrated as well as their QB.
This particular game has huge implications for the ratbirds and i sense they will be up for the challenge as if they should lose their season may end with it. They will play with high intensity and look to knock out Orton, they are playing at home and are foaming at the mouth for a win to get back on track. I would like Denver to win as it benefits us but I don't see it happening. This is one game i will be watching as i bet one of my co-workers that the Ratbirds will smash the Bronco's and bring them back to earth. Let me put it this way Denver will be softened up by Baltimore just in time for when we play them, in a week from now on Monday night, their defense will be exposed by the Pittsburgh Steelers offense, the only concern I would have regarding our team is the special team unit they better be ready for Royal! |
